... this guy.

Some of the guys who frequent other forums will be familiar with this car and its owner, but I'd never seen it until just now.

There's images floating around somewhere of it with both airbags deployed.

Apparently he was driving to a car show and hit a pothole or something. Because the pothole just smacked into the frame (instead of the car just rolling over it like any normal person) the impact was hard enough to set off the airbags.

How stupid is he? I bet that car is not as low anymore.
He was lucky the car didn't just auger into the tar and spit him into a tree.

On a phone...

Not the white na that broke the sump getting out of the gentle driveway?

When you say airbags you mean safety airbags though right? Like on an NB?
Not airbags for dumping it..?

It is a white NA. The video is of the car pulling out of a workshop, requiring 5 minutes to get down the ramp and then scraping around through the practically level car park.

Yes, he means safety airbags. NA Miatas were fitted with them.

Not sure if it's the same one.

Yes, safety airbags (USA spec NA's had them)
As in the ones that come out of the steering wheel and punch you in the face.

The car is statically lowered, no in-car height adjustment (Not sure if it has adjustable coilovers..... I'd be shocked if it even has springs)

Well I don't know if I would be so bold as to put NC drivers in there Dann, but the thought is there,
thats the whole point of an MX 5 to drive it,.........if all that tosser wanted to do was have a car that was sitting on the ground all he had to do was let the air out of his tyres,

Totally legit.

Not something I'd do, but I can see the attraction.

I looks cool when it's parked (only because it doesn't have clown car camber and fitball tyres) but the pose factor reminds me of carbon wings and "GTR" badges on Hondas as soon as he gets behind the wheel.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
