Design life is a function of design. Longevity is an undefined variable.

How long is long? Warranty period? Owner period? lifetime?

components can be tested against spec to determine endurance etc- thats what OEM product is subjected to- all radiators will deteriorate over time. A good design not supported by capable processes results in early defects. Anecdotal comments about brand X radiator from a handful of respondees is a pointer at best. There are many rubbish suppliers out there and inferior quality systems and processes merely produce variable parts. Those that have spent a little time in manufacturing plants will bear this out. A radiator is a vital item in a car- a defective radiator can destroy an engine.

i agree with your points but the ASI radiators have been around for at least 7-8 years now and crappy products don't last in the internet age.

Sure but OEM spec might only be 100 km. OEM price might have dealer gouging included.

Sometimes OEM is not best. Sometimes it is.

Will definitely get one but I'm torn between the 42 and 52.
