16x8 supalites what offset
hey guys.. im going to order the performance superlites.. i rang them up and they say they can make them in these offsets for the mx5
16x8 from -4 to +8
16x7 +12 to +35
i want the 16x8 and i know people have put the 0 offset ill have coilovers and a lipped guard but i dont want the tyre to hack into my freshly painted guards.
is a +3 a good compromise?

No.
none of the 8s in any of the offsets available will fit under stock guards without idiotic tyres.

Re: 16x8 supalites what offset
+1 with Dann here
those offsets will need some stupidly stretched tyres for them to clear the guards... unless you aint going to drive it d say don't do it
on my NB i ran 16x7 +12 and it scrubbed the inner guards pretty hard
but at the end of the day, its up to you man!
those offsets will look farking sick, but will render the car undriveable

--x7" +12 is equivalent to a --x8" +24.
Do the maths.

I meant does OP understand the specific offset math required to know what an 8 inch rim is compared to your 7 inch rim example.

I might have a surprise at the newy meetup.
may have the meetup at my place for a BBQ and some work for whoever is keen to lend a hand.
And no worries mate, Ive had a couple tonight too. Mates showing up in his turbo NB soon with some other cars to go for a run into town. Woot.

Re: 16x8 supalites what offset
i currently have 15x6.5 +35 watanabes but they dont really do the car justice. im looking to fill the guards out but not have the tyre scrape on a liped guard. ive been trolling last few weeks and seems like the 16x8 is common???

these wheels are 16x8 +10 with a 10mm spacer at the back.
my 5s been getting resprayed last few weeks so i havent been able to take measurements but are the inner rear guards an issue? i plan on having the car 3/4 inch higher than that black car.

Re: 16x8 supalites what offset
i'm running 16x8 +20. and was lowered a lot. it scrubbed like crazy, every bump pretty much, so I've raised it up a bit (to what you saw last time I was at your place vrmpshhhh).
Honestly I'd run 15x8 with around +20-+30 if I bought another set of rims. Tyres on 16" rims are expensive.

http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetcalculator.asp
Use this calculator to figure it out.
But buy the looks of it, 8 inch wide will require +25 to +35 offset to fit without modifications. Go lower offset and you need to start rolling lips, running lots of negetive camber etc.
