NA8 screeching air-con

Postby CQYD » Tue Apr 03, 2012 12:51 pm

Hi Guys,

My NA8 aircon makes high pitch screeching noises on cold starts, once it gets warmed up its fine, aircon is still cold. Sounds like a belt or fan issue but I don't know.

I just had the car serviced, so I'm just wondering if this could last until the next service or if I need it addressed before something catostrophic happens to the aircon?

99.9% sure it will be the belt. They need to be very tight. Check it for wear and if it's ok tighten it up.
Cheers

If you have any silicone spray handy, it might be worth giving the belt a spray too while you're there.

The belt will have dried out over time, the silicone spray freshens it up a bit.
