Maki, まき, マキ

Why would I bring my car to Garage Cafe after the way certain people have reacted?
Anyway on with life.

The only belittling of achievements that I can see is a couple of people saying "shame about the holes in your tombstone". Just about every other comment in this thread is "DROOL DO WANT" or something to that effect. You're bound (as all of us here are) to have much worse abuse hurled at you from the average Falcodore crowd than the obsession to detail some folks here show.

I'd actually take the talk about your tombstone as a compliment; that was a manufactured part, made outside of your control. You don't see anyone taking about any slightly mis-cut edges on your console, or any mis-painted edges on your cam cover or wheels. The parts you've turned your hand to have come out as near as makes no difference to perfect. You've done an amazing job with this car, and I think pretty much everyone here would agree.

My comment was based on more than just this thread the whole forum is made a less inviting place due to the behavior of a few. The flow on effect through Facebook also comes to mind at this point, but the issues with both in my opinion stem from it being perceived that it is "cool to troll people" or more so that it's socially accepted.. For now.

But on topic, thanks for your input and yes it is an aftermarket part the holes are to hold the panel with the hazard and lights buttons. It doesn't bother me in the slightest and even after the uproar I still drive my car without noticing it.

Awesome looking car! I'm not usually a NA fan but I'd buy it off of you tomorrow if it were for sale

Will hopefully see it around now that I'm in Melbourne too.

I'll keep my finger on the trigger, Eren, should a white, plastidipped NA cross my path (or me cross its path). :)

We had a great day along Bayside Melbourne, then the obligatory visit to the cathedral for today's big service, then people watching and cool spotting in Brunswick street, before dinner, then to Acland St for some more strolling and dessert. Just before the weather changed.

Alex and Ben, everywhere we've been there has been one MX5 spotted, a good sign.
Amongst the kewl wogboy Valiant wagons and softtops at Fitzaroy (plus lots of MGBs, girls with girls and gangster AMG Merc droptops complete with Underbelly characters and a Porsche (cough, Panamera) doing a burnout, I spotted a BRG NA hardtop, the first NA of our visit.
To make Deen proud, we've spotted a very nice evo gold NB in our hotel carpark, too!

Greetings from a storm in Albert Park, Melbourne!
Weather and time permitting, we may be around your way again tomorrow or Sunday. If you are around.

Mmm Acland St cakes!

There's a great place for coffee just past Maccas at the city end.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Pure porn...wait till you see its arse. CF'n porn!

This car looks and feels like new. So tight, so lean and clean.
Nicer than the pics, take my word for it. So much thought and effort has gone in and it shows.

The skirts are surprising but in a good way, they set the car off nicely, but wait til you see it from behind or three quarter view...

Indeed - this has been a topic of conversation between myself and many friends, at many times over the years now, in reference to a number of forums, not just this one.

However, IMHO, it is this very reason why people like yourself continue to keep the flame burning. It's a clear demonstration of those who show REAL passion. Someone who appreciates not just the car, not just the engineering, not just the social aspect, but the important balance of all of these elements, and more, that make the culture great. Actions speak louder than words (or keyboard warriors) :D
