Not debating anything.between se and sp parts, just confirming a change in the turbo will help, a few people use Nissan turbos, I dunno the part numbers though.

Naturally there'd be no point debating SE versus SP. Ever. No-one would want to.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

The GT2560R is the turbo you're thinking of, it's a stock Nissan turbo and the one FM recommend for MSM owners since it has similar response to the IHI turbo but able to develop about 60HP more.

This is the turbo I plan to upgrade to eventually since FM found the T28 too laggy. Novice1 mentioned that this is not the case at all so is it possible that Garrett have corrected this since FM did their tests? This may be the case since FM tend not to update their product lines much once they have a product in place (development co$t$ money).

Now I'm confused again, just when I though I was seeing sense.

Check out http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/

From what i can see there are 10 t28turbos all good for 300 hp.

Maybe the one Fm tested might have been laggy, but mine certainly isn,t.

Plus i have no idea which one of the 10 mine is.

cheers novice1

Atleast there is plenty of options, I know my turbo spools from 2800rpm, full boost (6psi) is nearly instantaneous.

The SE has an IHI RHF5:

Ron (Novice1) is running an AVO kit which I'm quite sure come with a 320hp GT2560R. A lot of people call these T28s.

You appear correct, have not checked engine yet, but was reading a few pages of various information pages.

Gt25r. Appears to have the gt28 housing with gt25 internals :s

Edit: what Lokiel typed now makes sense to me.

I had 2 turbos in mind, when I should have had 3!

If BARMY is already at 174rwkw and we assume 40kw of mechanical losses, that's 214 flywheel kw which is 285bhp. I probably wouldn't be looking for only a 15bhp/5% improvement.

You dont have 40kw of mechanical losses. It wouldnt take a 65 strong team of draught-horses to turn you gearbox and diff around.

Lol, I know, but it isnt a 40kw mechanical loss either.
