Making a complaint to the small claims tribunal should only cost about $30

Were they advertised Ravs/Volk ? - Then they are genuine RAVS.

You mean RAV VORKS.
The OP basically got what he paid for but if they were sold to him as Volks then he has every right to get his money back, how easy or hard that would be is another matter.

Yup, thought I was getting a bargain but got jipped...

I personally think the court process and such is too bothersome and the court costs would probably be higher than the cost of the rims..

Who cares, if they look the same, similar weight, and weight rated good enough for the car which going to be true when you only have to hold 250kg/wheel, they will work just as good. And you paid the right price for them.

If you really want to get your money back you should contact Tempe, explain the situation and ask for a refund If that gets you nowhere then lodge a complaint with fair trading and see where it gets you.
Try and document all your deals with Tempe.

Unless things are done significantly different in your state, it shouldn't cost you more than $100 or thereabouts, to have your case heard by a magistrate.
It sounds like a pretty clear case of false or misleading advertising. I wouldn't just let this slide. $1200 is not a small amount of money, and odds are you will be stuck with these wheels for a long time.

First port of call is to ring up your state agency for consumer protection, then probably send a letter to Tempe, stating what you want in writing, giving them 14 days to respond before you begin legal proceedings (state this). Usually this is when the manager of Tempe will pick up the phone and call you. After that period has elapsed you file for a hearing with the magistrate to arbitrate on your case. So yeah, start documenting everything.

Depends on the tyres on them though. If the tyres are worth $800 then it was a good deal. I suspect that for $1200 the tyres are linglong ditch finders in which case it is all spectacularly bad value.

I figure if the dimensions and weight and load rating are pretty close and you paid 2k less than genuine, power to you!

I doubt vorks weigh the same as genuine racing volks. Vorks have been around for ages.

What size did u get them in?

If they were 17"

Expect genuine to be $5000 including good tyres.
