Has anyone tried using Plasti Dip?

Thinking of using it for wheels, badges, emblems, door handles, side mirrors etc.

Pros & Cons?

Looks quite easy and it's a good 'try before you buy' before an actual paint job.

Seems easy enough to do and from what I read you can just peel it off like vinyl if it goes wrong or you hate it.

Wonder how much of it got on the radiator in the video.

Haven't used it, but have had a look at the Materials Safety Data Sheets - some unpleasant stuff that you can avoid with the right protective equipment.

Yeah, it's pretty nasty stuff. Use a proper mask too and good ventilation. The cheap white paper ones don't seal correctly, and are only meant for large particles. Masks aren't expensive and can be bought at Bunnings or any safety equipment shop. I think Emex knows a spray painter that has had collapsed lungs three times over even with using protective equipment.

Curiousity got the better of me..

The retailer was only 10 mins away so I went and got a can.

$39.00 so not cheap!

Got a spare badge in the garage and tried it, 4 coats went on easily...just don't spray thick

Let it dry and peels off as easy as it goes on...pretty funky stuff.

I'll throw some pics up in a minute

Yes, happens to be my brother in law, he had to get out of the industry. Even now, he wont go near the stuff.

LOL Regie... I was just talking to the distributor about getting several cans for other people who are also interested and you've bought 1 straight away

Did you see his red btw? Would have loved to see it to determine whether it's too light or dark for my liking

it was only a test to see if it peeled off easily...

peel it off if you get bored of it, or sell the car
