Everyday I have a chat at work over new vehicles my co-workers say "oh but you have to use the expensive fuel"

I facepalm myself and walk away in disgust!

Subaru Upper Engine Cleaner review...

marty085 wrote:I used this stuff on a 155,000km roadster import with unknown service history last year and it started blowing copious amounts of thick oily smoke in the mornings within just a few days. Maybe carbon Was holding the engine together. Just getting engine completely rebuilt now. Will never use this stuff again. Seriously. A Mazda dealer mechanic basically said "what the f**k did you use that stuff for... Why are all you kids using that stuff" and got angry at me as if I'd hurt one of his children.

I guess the smoke could have been completely unrelated to the upper engine cleaner but i wont take the risk again on an older engine with unknown history. And of course the smoke I'm talking about was different to the white smoke that the engine cleaner procedure makes.

Shame to hear, I have never had a problem with this stuff. I use it with every sevice on my MX5 and my girlfriends Astra SRI-T, never once had a problem.

Thought I would put up a video I took when I last serviced my car.

Blowing smoke rings from the exhaust always puts a smile on my face.

That's a great sounding engine! What exhaust setup do you use?

And how much of that can did you spray in the intake?

I use one full can at each service, I spray about a 1/3 of a can into the intake manifold through the throttle butterfly, another 1/3 onto the tops of the pistons and then let it sit for a while. Start the engine and spray last 1/3 of a can into the intake manifold via a vacuum line.

As for the exhaust I had it custom made a few years back, HPC coated Hurricane extractors into high flow cat, 2.25" mild steel piping with a resonator into stainless magnaflow muffler.

How long does this stay in your car for before it is all out of the system

Has anyone done this to their NC? Where should this be sprayed?

Personally I think you get better results from aromatherapy.
