I don't think Diablo will make it but i'm going to take up Midori's offer to give me a lift from home.

If people don't mind giving me a lift throughout various sections of the day, that would be great (I'm sure Midori would prefer to have a few runs without a dead weight on the passenger side too!

MX5 BREAKFAST CLUB - BREKKIE & WalnuT RUN
Sunday 25 March 2012
Time: 6.30am for 7.00am Start
Meet: McDonalds at Richmond

CHANGE OF ROUTE: THE RUN PAST LAKE LYLE THEN DOWN TO HAMPTON HAS BEEN ABANDONED DUE TO RAIN DAMAGE IN FAVOUR OF McKANES FALLS ROAD TO JOIN UP WITH THE JENOLAN CAVES ROAD BEFORE LOWTHER

Details: A late start for the BreakFast Club to coincide with sunrise at Richmond for a spirited run over the Blue Mountains on the Bells Line of Road to Lithgow and beyond. After following a well worn track over the mountains to Lithgow the route turns left at McDonalds on entering the Great Western Highway for a short drive of about 3km to turn right at the Donnybrook Hotel into Magpie Hollow/Sodwalls Tarana Road for a SRS and convenience stop opposite the Shell servo. After the break the route will through the twisty back roads south of the highway on McKanes Falls Road to link up with Jenolan Caves Road a few kilometres north of Lowther for an out & back run past Hampton and the Oberon turnoff through the State Forest to the top of the drop down to the caves then return to the Great Western Highway on the Jenolan Caves Road for breakfast at the Ambermere Rose Inn in Little Hartley at around 9.30am.

Ambermere Rose Inn: First licensed in 1845 as a public house and previously a Cobb & Co staging post. This heritage building was restored in 2010 and has since operated as a café & restaurant. The Inn has two period dining rooms and a charming open courtyard overlooking the valley to western escarpment of the Blue Mountains. The Ambermere Rose has great ambience and good breakfast options from tea & toast to a full breakfast. When last visited in 2010 there was a buffet breakfast however this year we will chose off the breakfast menu.

After breakfast, the run proceeds up Victoria Pass on the GWH to Mt Victoria village then over the Darling Causeway to the Bells Line of Road for around 30km to the Mt Wilson turn off and the 19km drive to Mt Irvine. The road to Mt Wilson and Irvine is narrow with little, if any, shoulder and plenty of twists and turns to add some zest to your drive.

Nutwood Farm & Mt Tomah: For more information on this section of the run to Nutwood Farm, Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens Restaurant for the lunch option and the Hawkesbury Harvest webpage visit the “More Info” page on the cruiser run’s Walnut Farm Run in the Events Calendar below. The plan is to meet up with the Club Cruiser Run in Mt Irvine to collect chestnuts and walnuts at midday.
