Re: Wassup's Na6 - Toad
Love the red tonneau.
Good work on the shifter boots too. I had a very, very cold drive home from Sydney to Melbourne once when mine were pretty much completely disintegrated. The cold wind around Yass at 3am in winter just came straight up through there.

Thanks Pamex. Yeah i love the Red cover against the white. Found it on a Yahoo Japan auction. Its genuine Mazda and was unused.
I replaced the upper boot a while back and for me it stopped the heat and the draft you mention coming up through the shifter... replacing the lower boot recently has pretty much eliminated the heat altogether.

Thanks! I guess unlike most who go down the route of modifying theirs I'm left with just 'maintaining' mine

Re: Wassup's Na6 - Toad
Quick update on whats been happening since the last update.
Went to the Spinning wheels alignment day organised by the Mx5 club and Toad is feeling much better for it. I never thought a simple alignment would provide such significant changes in the handling.
Following this i got a few new toys:
M2 Corporation - 1028 Roadster Aluminum Tower Brace. Weighs 1/3 the weight of the NB brace it replaced.
Very nice, neat welds. Good for an extra 15kw!
GR Craft OEM Front Lip Spoiler. Gel Black Carbon. Very flexible and super light. The construction is impecable.
This Sony CD player whilst less exotic has been a nightmare to find. But i found one and it looks and works great. Has a very factory look too.
I also got a pair of JDM Sun visors that fold in half. No need to fold the visors when lowering or raising the soft top anymore!
All this activity has (lightened my wallet) resulted in a few items that ill be clearing out of the garage. I'll post these up in the for sale section.
Speaking of which. I have this M2 1028 type Boot lid that ive decided not to fit. This'll be up for grabs too if anyone is interested.

Re: Wassup's Na6 - Toad
I meant to give you a big thumbs-up for the brace purchase.
VERY nice. VERY rare I guess.
Have you seen them come up before or since?
I am interested in the tonneau cover, too.
Did you use the services of Ruprecht, Importmonster or some other agents, for fulfillment of the YJ auctions?
Did you find them through NA8C searches (that's my most useful term) or via M2 search terms - or just Ruprecht's useful thread?

Thanks! 1 of 300 and a google search doesnt return much info other than the official stuff. Most M2 chatter is about the centre tombstone, carpet or more likely the side mirrors which i know you're a big fan of.
Tonneau and brace obtained via YJ with the help of Ruprecht and Jesse Streeter. Jesse in my experience works out cheaper but only for the smaller items. Ruprecht is the man if the item is bulky or is going to be exxy to ship.
The Tonneau was brand new, old stock.. where else but Japan!
I search for predominantly "Roadster" in Japanese of course.

Re: Wassup's Na6 - Toad
Thanks mate!
PS. When looking on Importmonster last night I found my best M2 1028 porn. It gives me some ideas, maybe you too, to match that strut bar.
A genuine M2 1028 in white (translated link).
http://www.importmonster.com.au/view?ur ... jpg&title=
Tempting, huh? Just for you to admire and compare with our local white NAs, should you be looking for understated NA8 mods.
Kind of looks like my Clubman (mainly because of the white hardtop and its Buddyclub wheels, not the hardcore racing engine work!).
I won that recent auction here for a NA front bumper, similar age tomy car, so it might look a bit more like a standard NA some time.
Note that this auction car's look is a bit wrecked since the owner sold off the Vitaloni/M2 1028 mirrors! wtf?
itbs!...or 'H6 year M 21,028 roadster 4 connected throttle'.
I've not seen a white NA M2 1028 ID tag before, have you?
The translation's terrible but it seems to be heavily modded to be a circuit racer, with lots of internal engine mods as well as the Rx& FC3S 4 pot calipers and bigger rotors. Hence the wheel change.
Quite a package, so enjoy the read.
You might be better able to translate than me.

M2-1028.0402. 4 connected you exchange to the throttles, control the computer, with the F [kon] V professional of HKS. Front the owner when overhauling, the piston for race/lace, in EX high cam of HKS, inserts the strengthening bubble spring, as for the piston and the connecting rod the weight adjusting, as for the crankshaft we have heard that the balance [do] [ri], we install also the lightweight flywheel and the strengthening clutch. Furthermore, rammer foot [sutenresumahura], you exchange the catalyst to [metaritsutokiyataraiza], take official recognition. Because the piston of big bore size for race/lace was inserted, the aerodynamic volume displacement has risen, but as this has taken official recognition, there is statement in car verification. Oil sound also the oil cooler of the radiator and one type has been attached in order to make management optimum. Furthermore, the core is the aluminum make of bulk. As for the brake, 4 pod carries which are thought as those of FC3S on the front the per with large diameter rotor, the large diameter rotor is installed even on the rear. Also [burekibaransa] is installed. Front and back adjustment type we install also LSD in the stabilizer. Suzuka it ran also the circuit and the TI circuit, but it could enjoy rather. Presently C ring type height adjustment suspension of [orinzu] has been attached, but pyro of the upper mount the rice increases exchange. In present specification, it depends on also the tire, but or the high-speed circuit it is quick the straw, the way you were moved. Furthermore commodity state, however it is overplentiful, the front owner full has overhauled travel distance, in addition because I overhauling the head after only the 2000 am running in 2007, you think that it is from now on. Because the front owner one time has exchanged also the body, it is thought as the thing which is not problem even in body rigidity and the like. However because, the body changing is done, because we have become authority carving, restoration history makes unclear. If car it can have verifying with verification, you understand, but it is genuine M2. Big the scar, there is no dent. Because genuine having tried to re-cover, removing, we keep the seat, we transfer together the occasion where it transfers the car. Large amount the commodity, inside thing and the engine whose remodelling place is many we request present car verification concerning the information from the front owner.

@ Bizi.
My wife probably doesnt want me to hang out (or be in contact with you) too much with you now as youre giving me bad (read: expensive) ideas.
Ive probably consider about a dozen times in the last few weeks the possibility of refurbishing my NA8 wheels to look like the M2 1028 ones.....
Must... resist.........
