Been a while since a update.....

Alot has happened since November/December last year. I had a new engine dropped in along with MX-5 Plus lightweight Cro-mo 3.6kg flywheel & Exeedy Tuff Clutch installed as that the engine was out anyways & my original clutch was toast.
The new engine was out of a 93 Eunos roadster automatic with 70k on the clock & runs a treat. About 2 weeks after the install my alternator decided it was all too much & pegged out @ Bacchus Marsh so I managed to limp the car to the auto elecs & I got a brand new one fitted within 24hrs of that happening. (I could have done the work myself but my car was stranded anyways, so i just bit the bullet & paid someone else to do the work that way its covered buy warrentee).

Max & I awaiting the train to take us home from Bacchus Marsh while the car was in the workshop
Image

About a week later my car developed a nice little belt squeal from the accessory belt, I investigated further into this & noticed the belt was excessively worn/glazed & stretched, to my amazement the tensioner was at max adjustment.

In the shed dong work. Can anyone spot whats odd in this picture?
Image

Munted de- laminating Acc belt, somewhat glad I have replaced it myself. Bit pissed off that it had two chances to come off by two different workshops over the last month. & yet i have to play mechanic & have the balls to say it's f*cked & change it myself. Slightly peeved that the two diffrent workshops missed this. NOTE THE THE DE-LAMINATION, (The top is the inside of the belt)
Image

So after all that in November & early December my car was ready for my Christmas road trip to Brisbane & the Gold Coast & yes i drove the five all the way there & back, and I found some great driving roads on the way back in NSW heading back south.

No GPS here :) Doing it the old school way!
Image

& My best pal riding shotgun all the way up & back
Image

& over the Christmas break I had acquired some bits & pieces
Image
Image

Overall i was happy with the way the car handled the long road trip & things that I learned were
1. The Mx-5's Ashtray makes a great beverage holder.
2. The boot is really small  but I already knew this.
3. Overtaking a road train is a interesting task.
4. Find the twistiest roads that are sealed.
5. In NSW they like to 45 degree angle park backwards, I dunno why still to this day?

So in the new year i had removed the Genie/exhaust shop sports exhaust & returned it to stock because I swapped it for a Garret Turbo
Image

Impulse buying on Ebay is bad for your wallet... well no that bad, only like $30
Image

After the trip from QLD my current tyres were a lil shagged so I bought a set of MS03's & near new Rubber off "Empty" on here.
Getting fitted up. & I also got a Magnaflow Highflow stainless catback off him too :D
Image

& how it sits now
Image

& to top it all off I have now done 40,000Kms since i bought the car in April 1st last year

It's been a little while since I've seen the car in the flesh (so to speak), so ... where are the pics?
