Hey guys,
My NC's rear driver side shock has blown and if sounds terrible and the ride is horrid. Sounds like the wheel is on the road without a tyre on it when going over bumps.
I'm not too sure but it sounded like something came loose in the wheel well, might of just been a rock but I'm a bit freaked so it's an excuse for coilovers.
Due to the nature of my NC being my daily driver I would like to replace them asap, mx5mania is out of stock and wholesale suspension is also out of yellowspeeds, justjap is out of bc racing and tein etc are a bit out of my budget.
Wholesale suspension has XYZ coilovers in stock but I haven't really heard much about them, seems yellowspeeds would be a better choice.
The earliest I'd be able to get some would be in about a week and a half. Can anyone suggest a place that might have them in stock and can do the install as well?

Could always contact a wrecking yard and see if they've got any OEM ones?
Shouldn't be too expensive. And if they're got one in stock should be quicker than coilovers (meaning you can save more money, and do more research instead of jumping on whatever coilover is out there)

I've done some research and YSR was my preference. I thought about wreckers but I'd much prefer coils off the bat rather than sourcing one shock etc.
Simply road duties with a track day here and there YSR or BC would be more than enough for me.
Any members had experience with XYZ?

To be honest, simple road duties, with the occasional track day, the same money on better shocks or shocks/springs would be far better.
What does a coil over give you that a shock and spring won't?

Just import a set of Tokico HTS from Shox.com..to replace the OEM shocks.

I prefer having the control to adjust damper and height when I like. Having run coilovers on majority of the cars I've owned I'd much prefer coilovers compared to a shock and spring combo.
The NC will be going quite low, another reason for both height adjustment and ride quality. Plus a great shock and spring combo isn't too far off a set of YSR coilovers either, may as well get the coils

Cheers bud! Would prefer to buy locally though, if I'm going to wait 2 days to one week for shipping from the states I'd rather just pick them up at mania 1 week later (good price from mania/wholesale for YSR)

Good shocks will far out perform cheap coil overs in terms of damping. You are correct though, no height adjustment.
Heavily recommend you read through fat cat motorsports faq and tech details so you have a good idea of what is happening. specifically the section comparing shock types.
To be honest, a good valved shock shouldn't need adjusting if it spends most of it's time doing the same thing. Ie street driving.
Your choice at the end of the day, but if grip and or comfort it's what you're searching for their might be better options. ;-)
