Uneven wear on front brake pads

Postby mitch_f1 » Sat Feb 25, 2012 9:27 am

So I had the issue a few days ago after pulling out my front pads of significantly uneven wear on the front brake pads.
The inside one looked like this:

But the outside pad looked like this:

I attributed this to sliders that weren't greased enough, so I re-greased them and went to a SOTS day at WP. I checked them again yesterday to see how they are going, and I can see the beginning of this again. What is going on!?!??! Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Its the calipers flexing.

You get that with street car brakes. This is a LOT of the reason guys go to AP's.

Excellent. So would it be safe/reasonable to swap the slightly diagonally worn front pads after each track day to get a longer use period out of them?
