Dynabolts only really work if you have a slab to secure them to. We have bricks on the driveway and dirt. :-D With any wind, a cover linked to them will just pull them out of the ground, leaving them free to whack around into your car and house windows.

Oh, and Jojoeffe... if you want to try some dynabolts in something, I'll bring some home from work.

Dynabolt dodgy day anybody? I'd like to see the random locations around our house they end up after a few drinks. It could be amusing. Probably more so for future tenants that find them. The only rule will be 'no dynabolting the cats or dog'.

Ah yes...could be difficult with pavers...and I think a landlord wouldn't be too happy about tenants dynabolting the house! I considered that option for myself but unfortunately, I have a paved driveway as well...the only one on the street

I thought about driving a pipe into the ground in the garden (flush with the ground) that I could use to secure the shelter as desired...but with kids charging around half the time, it was probably inevitable that one of them would headbutt it at some point.

I'm pricing the installation of 2 poles in the front gardens with hooks attached above the roller door with a removable trampoline style clip on spring loaded cover, remove when OK or clip on with impending storm/s!! First quote? $4500!!! [Council wants $900+ just to say poles are secure!!!] I think NOT!! That was for a permanent installation but I want temporary so as not to ruin the ambience of my home

Scour your local area for places you can drive quickly to, like a carwash, shopping centre etc
