Hmm, probably not until 17 June when the TAG Super Series comes to town - i'll try to file that one away. Most of my racing will be at Lithgow this year, except for the TAG Super Series meets and (possibly) the closed state titles, Wollongong in June...

I'd like to come along and spectate when you next visit Wollongong. This site says the NSW Closed State Titles are 11th-15th July 2012. I'll be there if the date is correct.

Right you are! I'm glad you pointed that out Bryan, they have changed the date since I saw the provisional calendar for 2012...

FYI, here is the full NSW AKA racing calendar for 2012:

I am flat broke ..It is a championship winning car and should be priced a lot higher but like i said ....me broke ..loved racing it loved the people . Know that feeling !!!
But thankfully my car wasn't really worth anything with a stuffed motor, so I end up spending all of my saved race money
and did a new motor and will just bite the bullet and go racing.
I've just picked up new sponsorship for a couple of rounds so that will help and have been offered more if I want it.

As for single make series been there done that and again those with the money will always find a way and win.
I'm 50ish   and couldn't give a stuff where I end up in the race as long as I'm still able to race. I will eventually give it up and maybe go to something a bit
different, like running the car with hopefully Nicole running in it or I'll try and get some up and coming karter to pedal it for me ( one with a bit of class )

Its good to see what CT is up to and I think no matter what class or event Chris runs in he will do alright.

I don't agree that Australia needs anything different to what is happening now to find new up and coming punters as it's always been difficult to get a start, take someone like Dave Loftus or John Boston (funnily I meet both when they drove for the same team ) both excellent steerers and can hold their own against any comers in the same equipment.
But as it has always been you need to be in the right place, right time and be noticed by the right people and then maybe, just maybe you might have a slim chance. Thats just the way of racing either have money or be bloody lucky and it doesn't matter where your from its the same world over.

I've spent the last 18 or so months a bit in limbo not really knowing what was going to happen to me, thankfully I got a reprieve,so at the moment I'm just gunna go racing and bloody well enjoy myself.

Cause as Crewman aka Paul says"" ƒü¢k that was fun!!!!!!""

If you want cheap motorsport, try motorkanas - they are great fun, but can be hard on tyres and gearboxes. Regularity events can be pretty cheap, if all you want is to get out on the track with other cars, and running at your nominated pace turns you on - in fact there are some pretty big regularity events (at Winton and PI?).

Anything else (supersprinting, racing) is going to cost. If you want to compete at the lowest cost, a standard car class is the way to go, and they are pretty much limited to supersprinting (but see Guran's comments above re mixing it in racing). Once you go modified, it becomes (talent aside) 'how fast can you afford to go' ...

My move to the racing events has not worked out as planned :( , though I hope to resume shortly (today's planned test day was abandoned, as I prefer to do that on a dry circuit  ). However, if for any reason I don't go back to racing the white car, I WILL be on the track, somewhere, anywhere, competing in something, anything.

I am with you Terry, though I would say (at my rather more senior age  ) 'do it today, there might not be a tomorrow'.

I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

From your first post Terry, I've jumped to the dark side, well never left it as I have always raced cars from the Datsun/Nissan stable.

I have a S14 shell sitting in the garage ready to be built into a 2B car in the next 12 months or so to replace the 240.

I have been banned from taking the 5 any where near a track after the respray.

PLEASE NOTE - the venue for the NSW Closed State Titles has changed. Wollongong will no longer be hosting the event, and instead the event will be held at Combined Districts Kart Club in Lithgow on 13-15 July 2012.
