Hi,
Just replaced the engine in my NB8a everything is fine expect when driving, it wont rev past 3-4k rpm in any gear, seems like there is a fuel cut happening.
Could this be due to timing or air fuel ratio running to rich ?
Is there anything i can check.
thanks,
Robert

Re: new engine issue- fuel cut ?
Are you certain the plug leads are good?
If so, is the replacement motor out of an NB8A, i.e. 1998-2000 with BP4W cast on back of head? NB8A uses an intake manifold which incorporates VICS.
Btw, what engine management are you using, i.e. OEM ECU or aftermarket?

The other common NB8A weakness is coilpacks - so also worth confirming these are good.
