Well what a run ! Glorious weather, took turns driving each others cars and what a contrast.
Pity there were no NA's for a more compatible comparison as it's generally agreed the Lotus Elan was inspirational to the NA concept. There are lots of misconceptions posted on the forum here when ever the name Lotus appears, reliability being one and everyone knows what the word Lotus stands for.... Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious... right ?
Well I found out this particular Elan is a Series 1 1962 model, 50 years old and after around 250k in what seemed like about 50C (was actually around 30C but felt hotter with the tops down) it didn't miss a beat and anyone who's run with me knows I'm not really into the cheese & wine tasting side of it.
Now as the photos show it's a bit David & Goliath here, so no lard ars* comments
please.
