I was about to do it on my NA8 also....But didnt like the fact that the head had to come off to get to the thrmo if I ever needed to...
Same as you...its a street car that gets given a squirt every now and again...
Anyways not going to do it myself for that reason...

Why would the head need to come off to get to the thermo?

At a quick glance, it seemed like the only way to get the housing off as there isnt any room against the firewall on re-routed....
I guess some modification may make it easier to get to somehow.

I do see the positive in doing a reroute, but its just a fun car for me- no major mods or huge power, didn't really see the need for my use...

No need to take the head off at all unless you have hands like shovels you can't fit down the back of the engine.

You do need to mark the position of the timing thingo and remove that and then you can access everything, nothing touches the firewall.

It is a little tricky back there as you do it half by feel but the parts all fit so that side is easy enough.

I wouldn't bother doing a re-route for a daily driver but it does what it is supposed to on track.
