Interesting drip

The recent wet weather has given me ample opportunity to test out the weatherproofing on my soft top.

In heavy rain no water leaks whether driving or stationary

In light rain no water leaks above 60 kmh or below 50 kmh or when stationary

In light rain a very slow drip from above the drivers quarter window but only between 50 - 60 kmh

All of my drain channels are clear.

Any thoughts on this?

Haven't experienced this but could the soft-top rubber seals around that area have worn down(?) enough to let some water through at that specific speed? That's a very strange circumstance to leak.. Goodluck on your fix.

I had the drip your speaking off, i fixed it by pulling the rubber back off the window frame and cleaning it, whilst also checking the seal on the soft tops frame. I noticed your from Bonny Hills, i have a co-worker who surfs up there often sounds like a beautiful part of NSW!

Have you checked the little drain at the top of the quarter window? It allows excess water from the windscreen header seals to run into the door seal and out the bottom. Also check your soft top latch adjustment. Another thing to look at is the condition of the soft top. If it has shrunk to much across the width water can get underneath it and past the side window seals.

I have the same drip but it's because my soft top doesn't seal itself properly because the guide cap thing has broken off the latch.

Update:

Lots and lots of rain today and the MX was parked out in it all day. A few drops on the seats seeming to come from the same place both sides and a bit more as a result of opening the door (not the rain coming in). But once I drove off, no more drips.

I did discover when I got home 25 klms later that I had a wet bum as a bit of water had pooled in the small crease on the leather driver's seat - none on the passenger side

My NB leaked air and a little water at low speeds and the fix was to check the alignment of the quarter vent and bend the frame gently if required.

On the NA6 at least getting water dripping on to the seats was as a result of water getting between the rubber at the top of the power window glass & the power window glass itself.

Update:

Fixed this leak on my NB by adjusting soft-top latches.
Adjust til gap between windshield header & convertible top is 3-7mm.
Mine was about 12mm before I adjusted, so this also sorted out a rattle

Not sure what can to do if it stretches more; but I guess either new latches or maybe add some rubber stripping between the windshield header and OEM rubber to make it a tighter fit.

You're right, it doesn't show how to increase adjustment, Sorry if i confused you.
I shouldn't bother trying to multi-task while on conference calls

Also, the rattle hasn't gone away, just less often, but still annoying.
