NC Number plate relocating. How to fill the holes?

Postby kayye » Tue Dec 06, 2011 5:24 am

Guys I have searched everywhere I possibly could in relation to a DIY on number plate relocating but I just cant seem to find how people fill the two holes left behind by the OEM brackets in the front bumper...

Has anyone done the relocating and has a good way of filling in those two holes?

I want to relocate the number plate a bit lower than that, i want to put it through the grill.

Does anyone know a way of filling the holes left behind? Is there some sort of putty or something?

I've never actually had any experience in doing this, but you can pickup body fillers from most auto stores, below is a link to super cheap's list of body fillers.

Another alternative would be to chat to your local body shop and ask for some advice on products to use.

NC Number plate relocating. How to fill the holes?

Postby TieNN89 » Sat Dec 31, 2011 4:20 pm

I came across a site the other day that sells colour coded plugs that go into the holes in the bumper

I can't remember what the site was but it was mainly a Porsche site so I guess if you search on Google for Porsche number plate plugs it might come up

I might be a bit late, but just bog up the holes and spray over them. Did the same thing with my mates spoiler when we removed it, if you sand the bog flush you shouldn't have a problem.

theres actually bloody 4 holes in the bumper...2 holes to hold the license plate holder and 2 for the license plate holes to go...

and those 4 holes are sitting unfilled right now, might go down to Clark's rubber and see what I can do. Dont really like to apply touch up paint onto the car's body as I've seen way too many botched up jobs that end up looking like liquid paper...

Get a spray an made up from a paint store, it's easy, more accurate etc. Then you just buff it to blend it in.

Will post pic before and after when installed.
