Love the horn button
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

That’s another tasty upgrade there And 1..

Always liked the idea of removing the wheel and take it inside the house.. Can only imagine what the wife will ask.. haha

Also wondering the same about legality of removing air bag steering wheel. If legal in NSW I would love to replace mine..

Looking at the first photo, the roll cage must make it really tight to drive..

Airbag removal is frowned upon here as well. But it is an easily reversible process. The QR helps me get out without looking like a goof :D

Please be careful with that quick release buddy. You wouldnt be the first person out there to get on the road and discover it isnt as attached as they thought it was!!

Car looks awesome!

I appreciate the concern mate. The beauty of the Works Bell QRS is that it doesn't allow you to unlock the QR unless you pull both levers outwards and you have to hold them there as you twist. It also has a nice audible 'click' when is is properly locked

Not much has happened since last time...

Did some DIY things to get her to look the way I want:
-Blacked out badges and rearranged rear
-Bought OEM reflectors and sprayed them red using metalcast (still reflect perfectly)
-Restitched my handbrake as it was looking scraggy and brown more than red (thanks to this thread http://www.mazda-speed.com/forum2/index.php/topic,20058.0.html. The thread I had was a little too thin so I doubled the thread for each pass.

Then I took her for some pics yesterday

With the console pocket in that position, your centre console looks like a "sad face" because it has an "eye patch":

- the "good eye" air vent is even looking at the "eye patch" air vent in this shot.

On a serious note though, the roll cage looks like it impedes on your leg space in the footwell a bit. Does it affect access to the accelerator? (ie. is your shin constantly pushed against it?)

Nice car.

Never do what it says on your steering wheel boss. I recommend staying about 13. I have for the last 44 years.

What did you "fiddle" with to get the airbag light to go out?
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

Been awhile since an update...

The audio has had an overhaul. System now comprises of:
-Pioneer DEH-9350SD head unit
-Morel Maximos 6" component speakers
-Kicker ZX350.4 4ch amp
-Genuine Bazooka 8" sub tube

Sounds sooo much better than previous setup and looks much better in my opinion.

Also picked up a new gear knob, which will do in the meantime until I can will myself to buy a TWM gear knob (bloody expensive) and a red stitched leather shift boot.

A new sticker is on my car to honour my good friend who passed away recently from a motor bike accident. RIP James Tan.

Anyways just some recent pics:

Not much has happened...

I got some FM frame rail braces. I was a bit sceptical about the difference they would make, but they are definitely worth every penny.

I only have the rear half of my cage installed at the moment and the car feels much more planted, composed and 'together' then when it did with just the full cage.
Although this could just be a subjective thing, it does feel less 'crashy' over bumps. So still a positive in my books.

This has triggered me to change some things.

As much as I love the Mazdaspeed cage, I think I'm ready to sell it.

I'm thinking of a Hard Dog HardCore with the X-brace and bolt in harness bar (no welded option), with the bolt in door bars. A few less pin joints and a bit cleaner look.

I wonder what peoples opinion on this is?

For what it's worth so late in the day, I found the connector under the driver's seat for the seatbelt warning system was loose. Tightened it. No more seatbelt warning light.
