All is well with the mx5, the only joy with all the rain in Sydney (minimal toplessness) is being able to drive in the wet with my super sports :D

SUPPLIES

HPS front pads and EBC Red Stuff Rears for street.
EBC Yellow Stuff Front Pads for track days.
K&N Oil Filters

Upgrade
Stainless Steel Brake lines and a really super go fast bit..... stainless steel clutch line

Now back to the mechanic for install and fluid changes :)

TRACK RIMS
About a fortnight ago i took a trip down to Melbourne (unfortunately by plane, i'd much rather have dríven) and meet up with a VIC MX5 enthusiast (super top bloke) who was selling some RX7 FD 16x8 RIMS in really decent condition! So i've joined the club of nc guys running FD rims. I sent them up to Sydney with "E GO" (as recommended by MX5 Cartalk forumites) and the service and price was excellent.

Now i need to clean these rims up (anyone have any tips???) and put some r specs on them!
(I was thinking i might paint them gun metal grey or black... but this might add too much weight  )
More photos once they are sparkling!

I like where this is all going!

I think fit the wheels up before you decide on changing the colour.

But consider also - dark coloured wheels hide brake dust :D

Finally had the braided brake lines and clutch line installed- RBF600 throughout.

While learning how to install the lines and bleed them with the mechanic i also had an oil change and filter done.
The K&N filter provided by GWR (which is massive compared to the OEM) did not fit so i have to follow that up- I might have got the wrong one or perhaps it does not fit the Australian NC?

Also cleaned up the RX7 rims, they are not 100% but i think they are pretty good for 2nd hand and a track rim which won't make me cry if i get them a bit scratched this year at the track.

Need to get some semi-slicks, i've got a good deal on some hard federal evo 595 and also kumho v70a so ill look into that hopefully before feb 19th - i've already filled out my entry form :D

Also exploring changing the standard seat rail mounts to gain a few extra inches for my helmet, couple of threads on the US Miata site have been helpful.

D01s Mounted Up

Picked up some used D01s that were from a well known winning blue NC :D

Also, I was thinking how it really is a credit to the MX5 community that each person i've meet through my association with MX5's has turned out to be a really top guy and Bear who sorted me out with these semi's is no exception.

Just need to find some time to get the lowering right, a new alignment and then hopefully a lot more investment... but this time in the driver !!!

Century Battery

I'd done a bit of researching car batteries and lightweight options but in the end replaced my well and truly dead OEM Panasonic with a century battery from my local battery store.

I've recently been learning a bit about the auto detailing world and have started to clean and protect my car a bit better than before. Working on wheels and interior thus far.

Mmm very nice

How many kms has it done now?

Seeing as your battery has died I'd say mine won't be too far off then being an MY07 unless it has already been replaced

Hey Tien!
Yes i've just gone past 63900.
Still can't get enough of this car! I've lowered the front down a bit more and i think i have it right where i like it... once i clean up the outside of the car ill take some more photos. (all the rain in sydney has 'filthified' my NC).

Hi Kris,
Great thread, might I ask where you purchase the SS brake lines.
Cheers.
Greg.
When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?
