Garage Star Products - Happy customer

Postby charlie_91 » Thu Dec 22, 2011 12:06 pm

Hey guys
Ive bought a few things from Garage Star over in the US. They are a small company that make products to a very high standard and improve the looks or feel of the car.
I bought a wiper cowl from Ken a while ago after not knowing if it will fit the RHD chassis i took some measurements and all seemed ok. Got it installed last week and im happy to say that it does fit perfect.

Shift extender and Air bag delete. Ive had mates try out the extender and they love it.

I also have two of there gear knobs coming over as well as there cooling plate. I highly recommend these guys if ur looking to buy anything like that.

Ken is great to deal with, also just picked up a shift extender from him.

Great people up deal with, I recently ordered some of their number plate brackets. Great product, communication and delivery.

I'm a little confused why you purchased an airbag delete though Charlie!

I like the wiper cowl idea, but I'm concern it will make my internal fan/AC less efficient. Is there enough holes left over to suck in the volume of air it needs for the circulation?

I don't have a/c. I can find out if this is a problem though?

I have one of the shifter extenders (thanks Charlie ). Great product. Fits well and is finished to a high standard. Really changes the feel of shifting, although the throw is slightly longer now a lot less effort is needed to change gears so all in all I'd say its an improvement. Here is a picture of it in my half finished interior:

Hated the shift quality of my 6 speed so fitted a Simpson design short shifter and vodoo knob which improved the feeling and shift quality markedly.Have had a health issue that made the shifting difficult (too much effort) so have fitted Ken's extension and gear knob and the result is fantastic.

Longer throw but great feel and very precise, gears are always in the same place and it is only a fick of the wrist to change.Previously sometimes used two hands to get reverse, now no effort at all.Longer gear lever brings the knob closer to wheel and it feels a bit strange after 30000klms with a short lever but I am sure i will get used to it.

Great service from Garage Star
