gear boot question

Hey ..the stock gearknob sits nice and low ..just above that small hump in the middle of the shifter. And the gear boot sits nicely over that without sagging down.

What about when you buy a new shift knob .. in my case a Skunk2 platinum. It sits much higher as seen in image..

I want it to.. sit flush under the gearknob as ive put it now.. how do i do that??
p.s. no comments about it "cable tying it.. or glueing it" i want it to look good. and glue is just irremovable lol

Best idea would be a completely new shift boot with a longer length of material

Just needs something around the lever, under the boot - try a bunch of rubber bands... There is a limit though as when the lever is at it's furtherest from the centre position, the boot will be trying to pull itself down the lever. A boot with more material could help, but no idea how you can tell whether the new boot you'd be looking at has more material or not. Benny might be able to answer that in relation to his boots...

You could also get a small collar machined to cover the gap.

My Old style Voodoo came with a collar at the base that makes it sit flush with the leather boot.

stitch a tiny bit of material on the top and cover the gap...
And if that isnt wat u meant im gna try it anyway

That might work, but could look a bit dodgy.

I actually meant a little metal collar that fills the gap.
