Car looks great!! What adhesive did you use when you painted your badges? They look so much better like that. Black and red is a good theme
Your headlights look like they can do with a polish too

Re: Kikuchi's Red NB
What do you mean by adhesives?
Also, the picture didn't come out too well cause of the really bright day, but it's more of a matte finish on the badges. I ran out of black paint (actually couldn't find it, I found the can of black paint later), so I used the can of black tint i used for the side reflectors. Didn't sand down the finish, so it's quite rough and not glossy. Quite like it cause it suits the matte wheels.
Yea I might actually take the headlight apart and paint the insides black, and in the process polish them as well.
Car also needs a wash, took my dog to the vet the other day, lab + shedding season = mx full of hair, took ages to vacuum. And his slobber is all over the window and side.
Must of looked funny though, small mx, with a huge lab (my dog is pretty big even compared to other labs)

I'm assuming you removed the badges to paint? What did you use to stick them back on? It's going to be one of the things I want to do when I finish exams..

Re: Kikuchi's Red NB
i just went to supercheap auto, and asked for the thinnest exterior dbl sided tape. You want it to be as thin as possible otherwise you'll have gaps when you put the badges back on.
I took it off and sanded it with 400grit dry (probably could have got 150-200 grit first), then 800 grit dry, then 800 grit wet. If you want it to be a glossy finish, I'd probably go with a wet 1200 finish as well.
and then sprayed the badges with several layers, then gloss. wet sand inbetween if u want it to be nice n glossy.

Re: Kikuchi's Red NB
Took my headlights apart, polished them (didn't turn out that good, looks good normally, but you can see the haze still left when light is on), but most importantly, painted the bezels black.
Gotta say I do love the result. was a pain in the ass to take it off, I didn't bother removing the bumper, I just unbolted what I can on the top and wheel guard side, so I can pull it forwards.
Sanded down the bezel, the chrome paint on it is so bad lol. I sanded it for like 30 mins as much as I could (couldn't get the ripples), went to wash the dust off, was wiping it with my thumb and the rest of the chrome was falling off too. So I just grabbed a towel, and wiped away all of the chrome i missed, or didn't get much off. Managed to remove all the chrome. And then sprayed a thick layer of gloss black paint on it, stuck it in front of my feet heater while I went to polish the lens.
Also installed footwell lights, which light up when the door opens. Wired from the top interior lights, down the a-pillar. 2x 30cm LED strips.
Pictures are on the first post, (as all of my photos are updated in the album).
Or for those lazy, here they are.

Re: Kikuchi's Red NB
Less than 2 months with my lowering and I got defected for it now.
$174 bucks out of pocket for a vehicle inspection. pos cops.
I know that what I did is illegal anyway, I just find it quite stupid that it is illegal in the first place.
Definitely moving out of shithole adelaide, with it's nazi stance on mods.

Watch this space:
MX5 plus rollbar, project g sidefusers, and garage vary front lip on their way.
sidefusers and front lip are on their way.
rollbar is dependant on if I can get another SA mx5 driver to share the shipping with me. (see post in the general threads section). either way I'll get the rollbar anyway. if I have enough money I might get 2 rollbars and try to sell one later

Re: Kikuchi's Red NB
Also forgot to mention, the mx5 will be getting a more show car direction, as I now have an s13 shell, which my mate and I are turning into a drift pig, so the mx5 won't be tracking that much.
Directions on the s13 is just a ghetto drift pig for us to practice and have fun in, our plan will be to get an NA later on for something more unique to drift in.
As of this moment, we're sorting out rims because we have extended wheel studs (to replace the ghetto mismatched studs the previous owner had on it), and the front rims don't fit our open ended nuts (too narrow), which means at the moment it's balancing on the studs with the closed end nuts which bottoms out..... not safe at all. We've settled on the rims, it'll be 15x8 -4 Superlites and 15x10 -4 for the rears.
engine wise we'll be heading the rb20det route, and once that's done we'll sort out coilovers and other susp. parts.

my mx even makes a little appearance hahas

Re: Kikuchi's Red NB
Not low enough but being a daily, that'll have to do. I already scrape my front bumper so often, once the front lip comes on, I'm afraid of how long it'll last.
Btw, not interested in a rollbar are u? check the for sale forum for my post about it.

Re: Kikuchi's Red NB
my mx5plus rollbar (single hoop twin diagonals) is currently being powdercoated satin black which will be done in about 1 hr. =D won't get it installed till tomorrow as I would probably need most of the day to install it and I have a gym session later.
FS: NB8B power window switch (non auto-up version) 30+ postage
UPDATE: my garage vary frontlip came in 5 mins ago too!
roll bar and front lip at the same time. it must be an early (or late) christmas! =D
