Hi Richard

Ping "Benny" (aka George) from this forum. He's had this modification on his SP for years now.

I've taken it for a drive and it's smooth as silk throughout the rev range. Where my SP would normally jerk and complain if I flutter the throttle around 3-5k rpm, George's SP will happily hover around that spot all day.

He's also added an electronic boost controller under the dash, allowing him to change the boost from a normal 8psi to 15psi (I think). According to George, this is handy when an HSV or FPV pulls alongside at traffic lights. :)

According to David (@ Mania), the new Adaptronic is much smaller and a quicker plug and play (piggyback) unit, making it simpler to connect than before. I too am planning to add this improvement to my SP, I'm just saving the dosh.

Hi Allan,

That’s great. I can sense a GB coming up shortly. Better not give anyone pressies for Christmas and save your bikkies.
I’m trying to meet up with Benny before Christmas but I’m swamped ATM...

can the new adaptronic do anything that the latest megasquirt can't? i like the idea of running an ECU that i built myself.
or is the adaptronic a better option because tuners are more familiar with it?

i'm not just stirring - i will likely be going to an aftermarket ECU for mine in the future, although i can't justify the cost to jump in on the group buy at the moment.

No it cannot. Im not sure if alternator control is currently included in MS3, but if not just buy saboteur a 6 pack and he can make you the circuit. :)

Also the MS does HEAPS more little things if you wanted to.

It has idle up options for when the air con kicks in which makes the car much more liveable if it is a daily. I think gslender has written a firmware modification to do this on the MegaSquirt II though.
