well even though i might not see much power gain, id get them made just for the look im good friends with an exhaust fabricator so the cost isnt really a concern for me, more trying to make something which will actualy perform well, not just look nice.
Mine is a standard NA8 motor. I will be running the jenevey quad throttle set up, controlled by an adaptronic ECU. I was leaning towards the tomei poncams, but as i have a spare motor lying around, ive been toying with the idea of getting some porting and polishing done and maybe getting some new pistons to raise the compression a bit, then run some larger cams.
The car is dríven every day, but i get it out to the track fo club level stuff as much as i can
thanks again for all your input

Re: crazy headers
There are downsides to such extractors, packaging being the main one. You have to fit them into the engine bay, keep them away from anything prone to heat failure, and you have to get a spanner onto the bolts to actually install them. Custom made, you'll probably have to mock them up in situ, remove, weld, and reinstall, so all of that process needs to be physically possible.
At the end of that very expensive exercise, you will probably end up with something that is no more beneficial than any of the off-the-shelf items on the market. Almost certainly true if you only have a mildly tuned engine, and even if you have a very highly tuned motor (massive cams and high compression), you probably wouldn't get the tuning of it right the first time.
Just my thoughts.

Re: crazy headers
Ok, this is a picture of the ones I have used in the past. They are available for 1.6 and 1.8 engines (the shape and design is very similar for both).
The sizes are
Primaries 1 5/8"
Secondaries 1 3/4"
Outlet 2"
For a budget off the shelf set they work pretty well, and they will cope with engine mods pretty well up to 180ish horsepower.
If anyone is interested I can supply these for $400 a set plus postage
Cheers
