NA NB Steering Racks

Postby Veloce » Mon Nov 21, 2011 8:16 pm

Does anyone know whether the power steer rack off the NB also fits the NA (manual steer)?
Thanks
Veloce

I know the NA8 power steering setup fits an NA6 happily.

not sure if the NB rack is the same (the NB reservour and piping are different though)

I'm sure I have answered this question before...

No. NB racks do not fit NA, and vice versa. NB racks fit NB crossmembers, and the only way to make one fit an NA is to swap crossmembers too.

The NB8A rack is different to a NA8A rack. The way it mounts to the subframe is different (see picture) and the power steering pipe connections are at different angles.

NB rack in front - NA rack behind - note the right hand side mount is different (to match the different rack mount)

Thanks for the rapid response, much appreciated, was offered an NB RACK.
I have the reservoir and pump from an NA8.
Cheers

Get the NA8 PS rack if you can as it was an improvement on the NA6 rack.
