G'box change into second very difficult when cold, no change from 17k to 35k (current). Tried Castrol 75W - 85 VMX, then Mobil Delvac Synthetic Gear oil 75W-90, no particular difference w.r.t. change into second. Mobil is expensive. Had to purchase 20l from distributor - so will keep me going for a while. Seems to work well in the LSD. If you find a solution by simply changing oil it would be welcome news.

Nulon G70 additive helped a little. Extremely easy to put in so i would recommend since it's only $15

I purchased my NC in 2009 without a test drive, left my NB at the dealer and got a lift to the airport, one thing lead to another and it was almost three weeks before I picked up the new car and I will never forget the shock and horror that I experienced when I first drove it, admittedly my NB was running redline and had I had just fitted new boots (top and bottom)
but this new thing was akin to driving Tomas the Tank Engine on a bad day, a few shifts at normal running is enough to settle everything down and it only gets better from there on. An up-spec oil may fix the cold shift issuses but I doubt it, and on the point of bundling the NC gearbox in with past 6-speeds, If my memory serves me correctly the G/box has been totally re-engineered with triple syncros on the first four gears, a one piece shift linkage and repositioning of the gear lever for a more direct feel.
Enjoy.
Greg.

either a careless mechanic, or young guy removed it to get the extra 0.08kW of power.
I'm assuming the NC has a hotwire MAF? If so, I would also look into gently using some CRC MAF Cleaner

Isnt the throttle body an air filter?

It filters out all particles larger than 65mm lol.

lol @ dan, yeah i found a brick in the airbox, the throttle body is doing its job well!!

I bought it off an old bloke. I have not had it serviced yet as it has had a service 4000kms ago. Roadworthy was included in sale to so i am not sure what has happened.
