Thanks for the latest updates.

Rocker stripes tie nicely to the calipers.
Mazdaspeed sticker looks like it's hard work to make it look right.
Is it just the angle or are some letters of varying relative width? Ds look a bit different width from each other in the pic.

I like all of it now except the Mazdaspeed script looks a bit wonky in that pic! :P

Given how well practiced you are at all of the painting and assembling, how much work is involved to get the sticker looking alright?

i had a lot of trouble with the stripes. the side shown in the photo is history. the backing paper didn't release properly and the mazdaspeed lettering was a scrambling mess with several letters stuck together.
don't know what went wrong. either side of the wheel wells - fine and no drama. but once i got to the lettering - what a bloody mess :? small threads of distorted vinyl lettering.
i said to the wife ---- it you can do it
that was it for me. gotta get another side and might get a pro to apply.
on the other hand if they had just been plain rocker stripes-all would have been fine

Billybunters, you were probably having such a tough time due to the lettering being non-solid blocks.

Could solid letters be easier and possibly better looking?

I think of all of your recent mods, the rocker stripes could be the one to get the most interest!

Solid letters could be one alternative, or solid cut-out letters:

cut-out 'sharka' style:

or even chunky solid letters:

One last idea. Front splitter colour-coordinated with the stripes.

Didn't actually read where you got the stripes from but have you seen this thread on cr.net? http://clubroadster.net/vb_forum/showth ... age+stripe

Yeah, do the splitter red. Makes sense, at the mo it is just hiding away!

As mentioned above by others, solid MAZDASPEED lettering would probably be a little easier to apply (and look better IMO).

I had enough hassles getting my small "Gina" sticker aligned on my rear decklid since there are no "straights" to align it with - getting the right alignment along the length of the sides would frustrate the hell out of me because if it's "off" you can see it immediately.

As you commented Graham, it may be far less hassle to get a pro to do it, at least they'll know the techniques required to get them aligned correctly and you can be happy with the result.

I think that Billybunters' order is referred to on p3 of that thread, by mk2tmr2 as a new design sent to someone in Australia. :)

Wouldn't it be better to get a good, working sticker replacement than removing the lot and then spraying a stripe?
The removability/reversability of the stripe and lettering would seem to be something useful compared to a permanent painted one, which might require major respray blending or a full respray in future.

Hence my intrigue; could there be a future colour change for this SE, BB? :P

Yeah, the Del Sol is not exactly to my taste... But we don't own or modify cars to satisfy the taste of others.
