Hi All,
Just wondering if there is a restriction in place from importing engine oils, brake and clutch fluids etc?
I'm having no luck with getting shipping for oils to Australia from America.
Cheers

Not by air, but I'm sure you can do it by sea...then it probably only makes sense to do it in large volumes...like a pallet.

I can't see that there's any point in doing this if it's just for your own use. Harold at PerformanceLub already does it and I think there are others around the country now as well.

Re: Importing Engine Oils & Fluids
I just went halves in Elf Excellium 10w 50.... i got 100L to use now that should be a fair few oil changes..
i think it works out at $45 per 5L compared to the $80-85 retail in the shops...
if you have a workshop that you use, just ask the question. Thats what i did
easier than importing

Re: Importing Engine Oils & Fluids
Shipping cost would far outweight buying a good expensive product here in OZ wouldn't it?
I also looked into buying the 20L and 205L options of oil once. Decided against it as they weren't much cheaper. Also a "good" auto shop assistent told me, the more the oil sits there, the more chance it has of being contaminated, even if it is a very small chance.
The stuff I buy is $43 a 5L bottle.
The 20L was $165, so $7 or $0.35/L cheaper.
The 205L was $1690, again $0.35/L cheaper.
I'm sure the savings would be much better on the race style premium oil brands out there, but I never looked into it.
