Kikuchi's Red NB
Recently bought a new nb, after my previous car got anal'd by a mercedes at a traffic light. Car got written off (repairable), got 13k for it and decided to put in a bit more to buy an mx =]
Previous car was a '04 mazda6 in titanium grey, a few mods included, genuine luxsport hatch front and rear bumpers, bc coilovers, speedy lite-5 rims, hids, custom led tail lights and a few other toys on it.

Pictures of the asura's destruction here: https://picasaweb.google.com/KType.6/As ... uv0_-fEzwE
Currently don't have a name for my mx yet so for now I'll call it RedNB. She's an 01, with just over 78,000 when I bought her, interior looks great, the paint, lots of swirls which I shall hopefully cure with some elbow grease and some tlc.
Have had her for about 1 week, and just wash polished and waxed her yesterday, and today, was just going to go for a short drive with the roof down, ended up heading into the hills for a cruise. Beautiful blue sky day, and a convertible? How can I not?! Even my gf loved it and she doesn't care about cars.
Anyway, pics of it here which I will be adding more photos as I add toys to the mx.

Mod list:

Future mod list:
Retint the windows
Paint reflectors and badges black/midnight shade
Repaint/complete brake calipers black
XXR 521 16x8 +20 rims with some stretched tyres
Carbon fibre hardtop
either eibach springs or some coilies
HID's
Upgraded sound system

My god, here's a name I haven't seen in a long time!
Back in my OMC days.
Good to see you again, you seem to have picked up a very tidy MX5!

Nice new ride!
Jeez, it's amazing how little damage there was to your Mazda6 for it to qualify as a write-off. A simple little bump like that - the offending Merc looks hardly damaged. Yet, your car bent just about every panel except for the doors! I guess being the meat in the sandwich will do that.

Re: Kikuchi's Red NB
yea, although when I had a closer look at the rear floor, it felt buckled, i didn't pull up the carpet to have a look but there was a few unnatural bumps on the floor.
it was pretty frustrating when i went out to look at the rear damage, and the offender says "oh no, my badge fell off" *looks at my car* WTF

Re: Kikuchi's Red NB
I smoked the rear and front reflectors, put in white/blue license plate led's, and I've just received my leather gear and handbrake boots with red stitch, waiting on cf gear knob and maybe carbon fibre handbrake if I can get my hands on some, otherwise leather handbrake it is.

Re: Kikuchi's Red NB
Updated with new photos.
Added a carbonfibre handbrake cover.
I also have a set of XXR 521 16x8 +20 rims in the garage waiting for tyres and BC coilovers coming early this week, so the next photo should be of it dumped with some lightly stretched tyres, probably 205/45.
Also have ready, bosch aerotwin wipers which will be put on as soon as I can be bothered, and metra dash kit ready to receive a double din headunit which will be coming as soon as my finance clears up a bit after splurging on coilies/rims/tyres.
on the cards next is a rollbar, atm it is most likely going to be the mx5plus single hoop double diagonal. and then will be looking at a custom catback, or maybe even one with a hi flow cat and custom intake.
Also gotta fix an annoying squeak from the driver side window. Seems that something is pushing up against the tint, I can actually feel the tint scratched. Not that I care about the tint as I'm going to retint it anyway, but the squeaking is quite loud and slows down the window moving up and down considerably, which I'm gonna take a punt and say that's not good for the motors to be laboured that hard.

Just fixed the window squeaking issue, removed door, sprayed some wd40 on the window rails and windows are new squeak free.

Re: Kikuchi's Red NB
New photos! =D
Lowered on bc coilies, and riding on some new shoes =D
Coilies are on softest setting atm to please the missus. But even so, handling is great, on the 8" rims and coilies, the car feels so planted now. Before, a pothole makes the car feel like it's sidestepping/pulled into the pothole, but now it just keeps it's stance. Obviously I try to avoid them when I can, but some I just can't avoid it.
I heard some scrubbing on a few turns, generally onto dips or up a driveway, so might need to roll the guards.
1 wheel centre cap is missing, as supplier sent me 1 chrome centrecap and 3 black ones. So I'm waiting for them to send me another black centrecap.

Re: Kikuchi's Red NB
Looking good. Do you have anymore pics of the new wheels showing the offset? I'm thinking of a similar setup on my SE or maybe even a little more aggressive.

Re: Kikuchi's Red NB
Those pics were just some spoilers. I'll be taking a comparison photo of before and after when the weather is better.
As it is, the wheels are JUST on the wheelguard or poke out just a tiny bit. It's definitely scrubbing on turns though.
