Assistance Please!! Lower Thermostat Housing

So I've searched the interwebz far and wide after having seen the small pipe on the bottom of the thermostat literally be pulled out with the hose.

Does anyone know what size fitting I can use to re connect the hose? the only decent info I found was a pic that showed a t-piece similar to one found for boost gauge installs and something in the states about 1/8" npt thread :S

I just did a timing belt change and it started fine and was all good until I noticed a small leak out of that hose...

All your help is much appreciated!

that mofo poking out of image 03459... I yanked it out with hose.. its all coroded away.

where are you?(put your location in your profile) I have a so so spare housing i'll never need,if my current one stuffs up i'd delete it and do a coolant reroute.guys who have done coolant reroutes would probably have better ones that they have forgotten about.

im in sydney.

my head is telling me to just bodge it up with some hondabond or something similar for a stopgap measure and just save the pennies to swap for a backup motor... and do a re route on the spare whilst I wait for the pipe/housing to sh*t itself again..

does anyone know what size that pipe is in the bottom pic?

So last nite i used some knead it type material that has similar properties to epoxy to fix the said hose in the thermostat housing..

I'm letting it dry thoroughly and will test it tonite to check for leaks. If it comes up all good I will report my results.

you can tap it out with a 1/8 bsp or NPT tap and put a proper hose barb in there. we have had loads of cars with these fail on club runs...
that hose is really only to give water flow past the thermostat. without this hose the thermostat becomes a "dead end" to the water and doesnt open/close correctly.

So I went against the grain of taping out the hole and inserting a barb. Found a replacement part from *insert plug here* mx5 plus in qld.

Someone on here had emailed but I couldnt reply for some odd reason. Thank you for reaching out whoever you were!

Had to remove the cam gears to get to the lower housing bolts.. Its quite an effort for a first timer but I got there in the end and I can report the problem is now fixed.

No more leaking water pump, no more leaking thermostat. Moar happy for me! I shall get around to posting pics when they become available, for reference.
