It's one of the benefits of going with the Ohlins. You should also find the ride comparable (some say better) than stock.

Those are some pretty serious tyres you've got yourself too.
As you would probably know from reading my thread I'm a pretty serious Michelin fanatic.

Weighed mine before install.
Ohlins are 1kg each lighter upfront and 0.8kg lighter in the rear.
Rears work out heavier because they use the existing tophats and bushes, fronts have a new lighter topmount

58890 Installed Pilot Super Sports.

Next Wheel Alignment. Though, I need to work on the front height, rear seems ok... both front and back are at 345mm hub centre to lip guard... but i think this might be a bit too high for me...

My mechanic informed me that my brake pads need changing too....... can't say i'm really upset to hear this!

Well done Kris.

You'll love the Super Sports. Mine have been on for three weeks. Smoother, quieter and more grip than any road tyre I have had.

Drop the car to 340 front and 343 rear and then go and see Stu.

Thanks Charlie, I will make the height adjustment when i get the car back.

Just making an entry here with regard to my nc temperature gauge issue that was addressed in the Engine forum.

Just shy of 60000km and have had a thermostat failure. Replacement with OEM Mazda Product this monday and new coolant fluid etc.

Adjustment to Strut Tower Brace.
I drilled a hole through the left and right strut tower base plates so the adjuster knob on the ohlins would pass through. It currently doesn't look very clean- so i'm thinking i might be able to clean up the hole by inserting a rubber grommit around the metal. I think clark rubber might be able to fashion something appropriate- otherwise any other ideas?

Lowered and aligned
As part of getting the tyres placed on the rims the fellas at the garage also aligned my car, one of the guys there tracks quite often and took me through the whole process of wheel alignment- very interesting and high tech stuff! Lots of fun. I am now very happy with how the car is performing, handling is a dream! I will see how things go on these settings but in the future I will probably still go and see Stu for his exceptional expertise.

At the moment i'm running 215/45/17 on stock 17x7 rims and the adjusters 12 clicks back from full hard.
The front is lowered 340mm from guard to hub centre which is 640 from guard to floor. (10mm lower than the Ohlins stock setting).
The rear is lowered 325mm and 625 mm respectively. (As Ohlins arrived).

This is not quite the 340 , 343 as Charlie advised, but i'll see how i go, at least i can drive in and out of the driveway, but if anything, i think i might have the bring the back up a bit and the front down a touch more. What do you guys think? - Its hard to get a good photo!

I actually quite like my orange indicators... and the tail lights! :roll:

(goes with my daggy styled cardigan).

Picked up a fire extinguisher today- will look at mounting options, hopefully Reggie will come up with something schmick for his nc which I can use as a solution

You just need some 200mm x 250mm x 2mm aluminum plate and screw it to the channel that supports the seat with 3 teck screws. The extinguisher bracket is then attached to clear the seat slider lever.
If you are height challenged, it may need to be 300mm long, so the bracket clears.
Make sure you attach it on the channel, otherwise the screws will come out the bottom of the floor.

Haha gmi good choices man, I think I'd have to go rpf1 over the re30 , they look too similar to me, and given the price difference .... I hardly see any rpf1 around nsw on any car. Right now looking for 16x8 rx7 rims

Charlie, have you got a photo of the fire extinguisher install ? I don't quite understand what you are suggesting. I really need to just pop by and check out your car!

My next track day should be feb so plenty of time for me regie :mrgreen:
