Maybe vinyl wrap in clear coat, so no scuff marks.

Again, thanks for the great pics and updates. It's come together nicely.
Are you happy with the interior scheme (obviously since you've done the clearcoat) or do you have more ideas to come?
I wonder if you do a what-if for the plates: either
- (very temporarily) stick on some red Con Tact onto the number plate, just to get an idea of going for red plates? Or
- put on a coat of paint, take pics, then wash off the paint...may be easier if you're still doing a few items in red (and I don't expect you'd bother painting the soft top).

happy with the interior..........painting the glovebox did the trick. also several coats of the clear coats has really made the colour jump out.
good idea on the painting of the blue plates to red i will give it a go and see wehat happens.
roof might look good in maroon. something to think about

Your car's unique. I just wanted to share another unique one with similar colouring and lots of attention (but NA).
Hopefully you can use this if considering colour-coordinating a little more red....or if you're thinking maroon, then maroon rocker stripes, if it works with your car.

Be careful mate, the last time I checked, it's defectable to customise your number plates yourself. I would love to have a red on black plate myself but plates are just too noticeable when stopped by 'them'.

Here's some more ideas to consider: Paint your tyre lettering white too like this:

And possibly add the "MAZDA stripe" in black - except it would say "MAZDASPEED".
