VIC - Old Myers Creek Road

One of the best roads in Victoria. Narrow with good camber and ferns crowding on both sides so it gives an illusion of you going quicker than you are. On an MX-5 you don't have to drive silly to have great fun so please drive within legal and your own limits.The road has a few houses along it and a bit of traffic so be considerate and not too late at night if you can help it.

BTW, it is between Toolangi and Healesville.

This is a very nice road!

I was however very unfortunate many years ago (8 years ago) and came off the road in my stock Datto 1600 because of black ice and crappy tyres :evil:

. I was following a group going up to test there rally cars in the Mt. Disapointment national park,(or Disaster, i forget which one) and had been judging my corner speed well for the previous hour by taking it 2/3rd of there speed then catching up on the straights, I had fallen behind on this occation and back then it was limited to 100 and had no barriers or suggested corner speed signs :evil:

. I was caught out as the first 3 or 4 corners were easy then turn 5 stars out easy then tightens up quickly :oops:

Now i always do a test run on a road...

I consider myself lucky cause it was only a 5 foot drop and managed to straighten the car up and landed it on its side in soft soil next to the creek ( i initially shat myself thinking the fuel was leaking and ran faster than a Jamaican) Had it been 2 corners later i would have been a gooner :shock:

I have been down there a year ago and its alot safer with suggested speed signage and its a very fun road to drive.

I think you might be confusing this with Chum Creek Road, 100Km, smooth, wide, signposted corners.

Myers Creek Rd is as per snshami said

Myers Creek Road is posted as an 80Km zone and is certainly challenging enough at that speed for most.
They both run between Toolangi and Healesville.

As for being the best in Victoria! I can think of a few better but nothing as accessible to Melbourne.

I might be Bob but its been awhile... only one way to find out

A year after the crash i went up to check it out and saw they had reduced the speed to 80Km and fitted suggestive speed signs (or bright signage, its been awhile) on the corners. When I crashed there it was 100Km and no signs :shock:

Best way to find out is head up one and back the other with a coffee in Healesville, then reverse the run.

With a clear run, both are excellent

Did this road on Sunday and once just wasn't enough! So did it 6 times

I can vouch for this road. Even me living in the SE burbs, it's nice to be able to leave after dinner and come back home to relax.

Very satisfying run in a short time, would recommend to anyone.
Also, if you make a left to head back down healsville-kinglake road, it makes for an awesome 'stage 2'! little bit more challenging with a few 'cool down' straights towards the end. The perfect short run!
