Amazing pics (again), billybunters!

After the colour coats, do you put on some clearcoat for protection or does this already have the right components to suit interior wear and tear?

Will you be getting matching red leather bits like the Benny's boots for the shift gaiter and the handbrake?

Thanks for the update and pics.

Did you end up blending in some more coats on the side plates that were scratched from the BD bar install?

hi bizi
i will fit all the interior in the next couple of days. if it looks good and im happy with it - i will mask up all red areas and then clear coat the lot in one hit.

i didn't want to clear coat yet - as of now if i want i can do a colour change straight over the red but if i put the clear on - i'd have to rub all that stuff off.

going for the red leather boot and brake covers.

yes. rubbed out the area which was scratched severely by the roll bar with 320 w/d followed by 600. cleaned it with grease/wax removers and top coated. good as new

Nice work BB, but I don't know if I'm a fan of the red, I think white would have looked Ok, or red on a red car, but I will have to wait until its all complete for the final judgement

I like the red alot! Will offset with the white nicely.
Think you need to do the g/box door though to give it a more factory look, like that of an SLK.
Great work though!!!

Just a "Heads Up" warning: Those seatbelt retainers ARE going to scratch your paint; you really want to avoid painting anything that gets rubbed or scuffed against.

Image

My lower speaker trim that I painted has a few scuff marks from where I drag my right foot against the door when I need to exit the car in a tight parking spot.

I'm "digging the red" since I think the NB's interior has too much black plastic - retrimming in black leather or diamond stitched vinyl would be an improvement too, just like Sharka's:
