Spent the evening doing minor repairs, sanding and guide coating on Maki.
Dad has been really good with this, I was all ready to rush in, get her back on the road, make her look "somewhat ok" but Dad has convinced me that now is the time to take out every imperfection in the car. So we rubbed back the numerous layers of paint Maki is hiding under, sprayed a guide coat, pulled out the 600 sand paper put on 702 ABC and got down to bogging, filling, sanding, sanding and sanding.
Now looking back and taking the photos, I am really happy that we are taking the time and doing this right. I put a dent in the rear guard when I dislodged the battery from its restraints unders hard cornering on old pac, but now.. look at it, its beautiful and smooth. The whole car is really going to look the package when it is done, something I can be so proud of.
Not sure if she will be ready for the interstate challenge, though now I'm scared of paint chips

Also have a few more suprises on the way...
After filling and some dodgy panel beating by dad.. a guide coat and sanding, it looks the goods and is on the way towards paint.

Pulled out the orbital sander and got cracking on the stone guard, stripping it all off (in some places its a different type of stone guard so figured we'd take it all off and start over), going to ditch the black on the stone guard and keep it white.. will make it look lower

Interior and stripped down, need to get in and vaccumn, scrub and knock out the sound deadening. Going to be respraying the interior too, to go with my carpet console, recaro SPG and jet stream surround. Also thanks to mx5racing I have some great floormats to fill my footwells. So it will be minimalistic and clean, a touch of green and cardon will tie in the wheels and the bootlid.

The new shiny front bits all repaired and painted, I can say that I know the imperfections of my car very well now. Its been interesting to learn how to bog and fill properly.. I am very excited for paint.

K1 represent - proof we get our hands and cars dirty.
