Don't forget to clean and polish the "5" this week. Looks like the weather might be ok. Hope we have a good turnout as there has not been much response here!!! Cheers Johno

All,
Looked like a 'greasy' morning for the run, hope you all had a safe one. I was in Apollo Bay Sun. morning and saw the groups arriving, after having just walked 3 days of the 'Great Ocean Walk' with a group of mates.
Like many of us i have been driving th Great Ocean Road in a variety of cars since i got my license, and it is one of the best pieces of road in the world.
The 'Great Ocean Walk' follows the coast from Apollo Bay to the twelve apostles, although i am still more 'petrol head' than 'greeny' but having now walked this section of the coast it confirmed that this part of Victoria / Australia is world class. We met people on the walk from all around the world who had travelled to Australia to do it.
Although i was dissapointed to miss the run, it was unbelieable to see that part of the coast from a different perspective. I'll be back next year, driving NOT walking!

Re: 5th Annual Sunrise on the Great Ocean Road Run Oct 9th 2
I was on the run Sunday and fair to say it was wet! Still...nothing quite like driving the Great Ocean Road with the roof down and the windscreen wipers on. Thankfully it was mainly light to heavy drizzle so the roof could stay off as long as we kept moving. I only had to stop once when the rain got too heavy around Airey's Inlet from memory.
The official count was around 53 cars. Great turn out given the weather.
Here are a couple of photo's at the first stop in Lorne.

mentalpopcorn, what are the number plates of your car? Do they reflect the model you have? If so I have a video of your car I'll post up when I have the chance =)
Great day, especially considering the weather! Also a great turnout all things considered, can't wait for next year =)

The only good side to completely missing the start (Sarah was unwell, with little sleep and nausea), was that we didn't have to worry about holding anyone up when I randomly stopped and pulled my camera out. So much beautiful scenery that required the attention of my camera!
I had the gopro strapped to my windscreen as well, but the footage is a little ... iffy. I do want to edit it into something, but that'll take time, given I have almost no video editing skills.

Damn, I am really annoyed at myself now that I elected not to attend due to weather. Got up in the morning and it was still drizzling and thought to myself leave it for another day.
Excellent turn out weather considered.
