Thanks for the pictures dan! the 86 looks good!

How were the velocity stacks made? just tube with bellmouth welded to the end? Also, did you come up with lengths yours?
Cheers,
plohl

Thats right, tubes with bellmouths.

I didnt make them. They are tuned for 7000rpm. Shows how useless the short ones you see are... Tuned for 25,000rpm... Silly. Just silly.

yup

was looking at a 5 today with 180 hp engine that hade gary stewart quads on it i think - good 150 mm (ish) runners. There are some companies that produce nice velocity stacks for bmw's and that, not much of it is seen in other cars though. And it is funny because the stock intakes generally have longer runners (and for a good reason).

plohl

Never stock, but I have dríven a couple of stock and mildly modified examples.
The ae86 is like the Escort that ford should have built.
Id say they are just as fun but dont quite handle as good.

just finshed off a set of COP setup that Dan made up for my Turbo NA.

top work i must say.
the only thing that i did was make the plug to plug it into my harness instead of chopping up the
ignitor.

I have mounted them in with the strap that Dan sent me but im not a big fan of it , so im going to use my spare cam cover to mount them each with a Bolt. should make them look a little neater.
Other than that there great and i cant wait to get it tuned to see if my miss is gone.

I might as well state now, that Im only producing these for serious guys with ECUs, for various reasons. If you want to know them PM me.

Also Patrick Bramstons 300whp Turbo Na6 now has a set due to unstoppable missfires and poor fuel economy, along with poor idle characteristics when used at the boost levels, and with the cams he has.

A day at the Temora 1000 beating 911 Twin Turbos and the like, along with yesterdays supersprint, causing water temps beyond 110c, and not a single stumble or missfire. Even at 15psi and 8500+ RPM. Idle improved dramatically, and he reports much better economy, although thats hard to quantify at the track.

Did you buy the plate from the states or make it yourself? Looks like a lot of work lol.

When you buy this kit from 949 racing, you get a similar plate to what you have made.

Nice work mr bender, yes the other one works but your design is very neat. Are the threaded mounts those pop rivet expandable things I've seen at the engineering shops? I doubt I will need COPs with my 8psi  and 6500rpm red line (I'm over driving the M45 so their is no point in reving hard as their no more gain to be had).
Ted
Why didn't I buy one years ago?
NA8 Ceramic coated headers, Hi flow cat, 2.5”system, M45 SC 150/62.5 8psi, Dual TB, IC & Adaptronic ECU.
