Re: Novice1 aka Rons car
Back from retune. Standard cams now in, Tighe 805's out. Big loss of power and boost had to be dropped.
Tighe 805's 224hp at 12psi high boost, 203 hp at low boost, torque 307 ft lbs at high boost, 283 ft lbs at low boost
Standard cams: Woolies fuel 98 octane wud expect better with BP
9 psi Power 179hp, torque 262 ft lbs.
Bit disappointing was expecting round 10 percent less power with standard cams.
Oh well fuel economy should be better .
Cheers Novice1 aka Ron

Re: Novice1 aka Rons car
Friday new tyres being fitted to enkei rpf1 rims, bridgestone potenza re02's, 15 inch 205 50's. Still waiting for Goodwin racing to get in centre caps.
New tighe cams in (anyone wanna buy the old set, lol, some damage but made great power gains when they were in. have photos.
Retune next week. Expecting some nice gains with cams specially designed for turbo application.
Will also have for sale a set of mags, with semi slicks, 17 inch.
Will try to post up pictures of the new rims, tyres over the weekend.
Cheers novice1 aka Ron

New cams in, idles beautifully. More power, more torque. Also sounds different. Nice growl to the car when you put the foot down.
Running it strictly on low boost till bottom end is built up cheers novice1

Awww, I was hoping you'd get bronze 6ULs, they look fantastic on green MX5s (and black MX5s):
- there's a better photo out there on "the internets" but I can't find it right now
Picture this car in Emerald Green instead:
Did you have any issues with the 15" Enkei rims and your brakes? I know that they don't accomodate the Big Brake Kits on the SE and later model NBs.

Re: Novice1 aka Rons car
Not sure if a big brake kit would fit. I think not. I don't have issues with braking, qfm pads, braided brake lines, dba slotted rotors .
I went for the enkeis for their lightness. Aesthetics wasn,t a consideration.
Gotta admit though that there are better looking wheels around
I am probably the worst driver so I wouldn.t think beating me is anything to put on anyones resume...lol. I do like the bridgestone adrenalin tyres....$50 bonus petrol voucher to boot.

Re: Novice1 aka Rons car
The Enkei's have been on now for a month or so. Whereas before I might have said there are better looking wheels, I am not so sure now. The Enkei's have grown on me.
I think they look stunning despite having no centre caps.

Re: Novice1 aka Rons car
Rims tend to grow on you. When I switched from OEM 17 Racing Barter to 15" 6ULs it took a while to get used to the look of them, now the OWN 17" Rims just look wrong.
Have you noticed a difference in handling? Comfort is definitely improved.

Re: Novice1 aka Rons car
Definitely feel the bumps less with the 15 inch wheels. Handling not sure. Steering I would say feels lighter, more precise.
