I don't think so, since my burned cds don't work on my nb sp which is a similar unit(?)

If you want a quick cheap fix to play your mp3's you could buy an ipod fm transmitter. You'll loose a bit of sound quality though.

Dave,

Do you mind explaining how it would connect up to the original HU? Do I need to pull the HU out and connect at the back of it.. I think I can manage that.
I don't mind the unfriendlyness if it is not too expensive.. Normally I just leave it in a playlist.. but all my music is on the Itouch.

Also if this part can be purchased from Mazda here in Australia..
