Well, the cameras done a runner, and I can't seem to find it. It has all the pics on it that I need to upload.

But as an update I just scored myself some clubby bilsteins. Yay!

I'm not gonna put them straight in the car though as I want to change some things and would like your opinions.

Firstly the bushes. The current ones are sagging a bit and i wanna change them. I can find poly ones on the web, but as I want a bit of comfort (and I don't want to have to regrease them every three months) I was thinking getting stock rubber ones. Bilstein tell me that they're almost impossible to find. And my local Mazda dealer is completely useless (can find without the vin). Any ideas?

Next up, the springs. Did the come from factory with black and red springs? I want to change them anyway, and I was thinking Tein Tech S springs. Once again, comfort is playing a roll here. Or maybe Eibach. Opinions?

Lastly, tophats. One of the shocks is missing its tophat. I've been told that the current ones in my car will fit. But when i take the stockies out, i would like to keep them in one piece. Any ideas where I can get a single tophat from?

Your cat has great taste in resting places (my cats also have a tendancy to sleep on the roof of the five and I find little paw marks all over the windscreen... lately they have taken up residence in my SPG grrrrrr)

And now for my Skunk2 Radiator Cap Installation guide.

Be vary careful when doing this, only attempt if your a fully qualified tech with over 20 years experience.

Difficulty rating: 10+

1. Purchase Skunk2 Radiator Cap off forumite member.

2. When said cap arrives open box.

3. Delicately open the bonnet and put roddy thing in roddy hole.

4. Look menacingly at current radiator cap.

5. And wait for it to magically disappear.

6. Install new radiator cap succesfully!

Few more things to throw in.

First off, pics of my Apexi power intake. Yes I know, having an open pod next to extractors is a bit silly, but then it does seem to help over stock, and it does have a heat shield (which may be for looks more than anything). One of the impressive things about the kit was ease of installation. All bits and pieces needed where included and the whole install took me about 20 mins.

When driving normally you can't really hear it. When driving like a loon, it opens up nicely and gives a low menacing growl.

Now for a very simple foamectomy pic guide:

This is only for the back of the seat, not the swab. I'll do the swab later when I get more cable ties!

1. Remove seat

2. Carefully turn the seat upside down so you can get to this bit. Then remove the hog rings. I cut them off, and used cable ties to put it all back together.

3. Turn seat right way up, lift up center fabric, remove the eight hog rings holding the foam in place and then remove the foam.

4. Place fabric back in place and re do up with either the hog rings or cable ties like I did. Then reinstall seat.

Hope this helps people.

Maybe I should take a course in how to do a proper DIY guide :D

Well the missus and I went on a nice long journey for a one year anniversary. Started in the Southern Highlands, then to Sydney, then the Blue Mountains and back to the Highlands. Unfortunately on the way home, the clutch started to slip. At this stage I cracked the shits, put the car up for sale and swore never to buy another second hand car again. This all happened on Monday. After calming down a bit (and the fact you can't get a new Polo GTi for at least six months), today I ordered a Exedy Sports Tuff clutch for the car which will hopefully go in next week along with a new rear main seal.
