RX7 bits that fit

Postby olboy » Mon Aug 29, 2011 8:21 pm

I have just found some more power for my NA6 and now I need better brakes and diff
I've noticed RX7 stuff can be quiet a bit cheaper than Mx5 stuff
Does anyone know what if anything in the way of diffs and brakes fit
legality isn't a problem as the car is an unregoed track car

thanks olboy

None of the RX7 stuff fits if you want to keep the PPF and IRS rear end.

Really the only thing that will fit is the crown wheel and pinion into an NA8/NB8 diff and that is if you use the C.W&P from the first of the RX7's '78 - '85 and other mazdas as well. You will find that an LSD from a Normially Aspirated '86 - '92 will fit but by the time you chase around and find all of the parts it will cost you more than just sticking with NA8/NB8 stuff.

i've read artiicles about the rx-7 AFM being installed into an NA6.. apparently its bigger.

not sure if the gains are measureable but i think they might cause air/fuel mix problems on the stanatrd ecu anyway

not alot of help, but thats my input. I dont know a great deal about the upgrade i just know its been done

Alan why dont you just get a torsen setup? Bolts straight in, just as strong as the rx7 setup and just as good on the track. Cant imagine how much it would cost after youve paid to get the R&P fitted etc.
