Exactly Dan and that's why i am doing this,I'm not changing the inside diameter. The tip is 3inch on the outside but 2 1/4 inside and "filled in" in between for want of a better term.(Apparently called dual layer in the trade)

PCMX5 has heard and dríven my car and can attest to this. He was there when the system was fitted.

Have been lucky enough to have dríven this well sorted car, It has a great purr to it.
As Pete said hope to catch up with you soon, if you are going on the GOR run maybe we can head to the starting point together.

I had a full T & C system fitted some weeks ago after advice from PMX5.
As my cat was somewhat blocked, as discovered when taken off, the gain to my NB8B was fantastic and the sound was unreal.
I made the mistake of asking for a 3" tip which looked great but the drone on the way back to Ballarat was not very nice.
Colin from T & C rang that afternoon, as did PMX5,( great follow up ! ) to see how it all went. Colin advised to give the car a good high rev run to settle it all in. I did this with great enthusiasm and could not believe how freely the car revved out.
After a week or so the drone was still present so I took it to a local shop and had a 2" tip fitted. This fixed the drone and definitely altered the note for the worse.
The 2' tip was too small and looked too standard. A car with a great sound must look right as well.
Back to the shop, off with the 2" and on with a 2 1/2". The car sounded good before but now it sounds perfect !
I went on a club run on Sunday out around the Kinglake area and the performance and sound made it one of the most enjoyable runs I have ever been on.
I got a few comments on how good it sounded and one guy is going to book in and have the same fitted to his NB.
I would like to give a very big rap to Colin at T & C for the great friendly service and follow up and also to Peter (PMX5 ) for his great advise and encouragement. They certainly know their stuff !
Thanks again, Fiver

Just to throw in my 2c worth here. I've had a T&C built system on my car for 3 years now. It's done about 30 track days, been dragged through the kitty litter, bellied out in the mud and bounced off ripple strips forwards or backwards more times than I'd admit to, as well as done 30,000km on the roads, including a fair bit of dirt. There's never been a peep of trouble with it during all that time.

When we cut the front off it to do some mods to the header pipes last year we had a close look at T&C's workmanship. Perfect welds; the 2.25" front pipe had been smoothly flanged out into the 3" cat convertor and the interior welds had been shaped out with a die grinder. Not a crack or a bend in any of the system and no signs of it hitting or rubbing anywhere.

My previous system lasted less than 6 months, belted into oblivion by general manga abuse. T&C were a higher cost up front for me but much cheaper in the long run.

nanotech wrote:So have you actually booked in to change your tip Peter? I'd love to hear back from you about the sound of it! Otherwise I'll head in to see Collin and talk to him personally. Would be great to hear a testimonial first.
Also pricing!

Josh, finally got around to having a 3 inch outside diamenter 2 1/4 inside tip fitted and it has made no difference to the great sound but looks heaps better.$70 as a one off purchase or $35 on top of the one usually fitted to their system.

Go for it!,

Gidday Peter, it's Tony here.

Do you have a photo and part number you could share? I'm keen on doing something myself, but would like to source locally if I can.

Took all of ten mins to fit, they cut off the other tip and welded the new one on.From the back you see a 3inch outside diameter tip and a fill in to the 2 1/4 inside pipe.nothing else.

Give me a call if you want to see it on my car,

Peter.

Yeah i'd like that, I might give you a buzz some time tomorrow or Friday. That or just cruise by TnC. If they have a spare 10mins I'll see if I can get them to do it on the spot lol
