Badbong, yes the engine stayed in and the engine bay was untouched but it was a complete disassembly job for the exterior, cost was $5k, including all the dents being tapped out, filed back and a thin film of filler to make smooth.

Gslender, the ebay deal included shipping for all 4 wheels, here is the link:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/15-ROTA-RB-SILVER-RIMS-WHEELS-15x7-35-4x100-MIATA-XB-/300568034013?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item45fb403add
$680 with the dollar where it is is pretty good I reckon!

Hjt, thanks :)

Looks awesome Varjak, I was impressed by your post in the "Show Off Your Wheels" thread but I'd forgotten that it was this car! Congratulations, you must be stoked with the outcome and it has more of a story to it than just buying a clean example.

The car looks stunning. I notice you have it in your back yard. It must look great from inside your house. What a great piece of garden art :)

Clear front lamps and chromed orange bulbs added today. The bulbs illuminate orange but appear silver. No more nasty orange at the front of the car! Gives a lot cleaner appearance and the front lamps appear much more jewel like.

With those new turn signal assemblies you have, do they swap the parker light to the large inner one and the turn signal to the small outer one? I have a feeling I've seen ones that do that somewhere before...

Looking great!
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Hi Varjak, where abouts in Dandenong did you say you had the seats trimmed?

Would you remember roughly how much it cost, if you don't mind me asking?

Had a look at the car on carsales, it's real pretty!

A red MX5 coming the other way must have RSI by now from all the waving he did.

Hey Blip, I got the seat done at Axion http://www.axtrim.com.au/

Don't judge the business by the web site! They did an excellent job. I think the price was in the region of $400 for the driver's seat but that was a while ago now so don't quote me on that. Vince I think is the guy, he does a great job!

Hope they can help you out!

Quote I had about 6 months ago for my NA seats, re-covered in leather, was $1200! Bought a pair of NB8B seats instead ...
