Hey any ideas on the best fix for this little problem.
The metal that the accelerator unit attaches too has snapped.....
Gives pedal to the metal a new meaning

Re: Accelerator Pedal Broke off while driving!
I would guess that finding someone that is breaking a car would be your best bet. Not normally a part that fails so you should not be fighting people for it.
You could probably get it welded up but it is probably easier to just replace it.
Is the car your daily?

Try MX5 Plus
If they haven't got a replacement, they should be able to weld it and possibly reinforce it as well.
I believe it is becoming a common problem for the NA's

Yer car is my daily, have another one I can use while this is off the road.
Seems like it would be a hard part to replace, hoping someone with some welding knowledge can shed some light... maybe it could just have some plates welded on over the crack?
Is there enough room there to do it while its all attached? Its pretty tight up under there.
Driving a Peugeot 307 atm.....this one here for sale , MX MK1 still wins hands down miss it so much already!

Re: Accelerator Pedal Broke off while driving!
A bit late for you, Jaron, but anyone can stop this from happening in the first place by adjusting all the throttle linkage properly. If the pedal arm pushes against the stop bolt at full throttle then the twisting force of the arm against the stop bolt will bend, weaken and eventually snap that bracket. It's a design flaw that you need to work around.
First you back off the stop bolt until the arm can no longer touch it. Then you adjust the cable attachment on the inlet manifold of the motor until the throttle body is just a whisker off fully open when you push the pedal to the floor. When you set it up right there will be no strain on the pedal, the floor bracket, the cable or the throttle body, no matter how hard you mash the pedal into the carpet.
