sabretooth's NA8

Postby sabretooth » Mon Feb 11, 2008 12:02 am

Here's my pride and joy. It's a 1994:

Those are BSP low profiles:

with an engine I built myself:

which is cooled by my 38mm aluminium radiator:

The intake air is heated up by a TD04 turbocharger (minus the red cam cover, urgh that turned out so badly):
Image

but cooled by a Forge Motorsport intercooler:

I sit in an NB interior (with some work still to go):

which is home to a Mazdaspeed gauge cluster:

Shifter and handbrake by Voodoo. Boots by Benny:

Traction is helped with a Torsen Type II LSD:

Wow, thats an awsome car. You could never sell that, it must be almost a part of you considering all the work you've done.

Thanks! :D

The boost will be upped soon - I have a dump pipe flange I'm waiting on.

The door trims are a work in progress. They'll actually require a fair bit of work to fit - but when it's done it should look great.

I'd totally forgotten about this thread and subforum! :o

The dash is a Mazdaspeed - it was on the car when I purchased it, so I have no idea where to get one, unfortunately!

I've done a few things since posting this thread, the most notable of which is the NB roof install. The original NA one started to degrade - cracked a few times in cold weather, and then the roof slammed down on the motorway in cold weather, resulting in:

Image

No photos of the NB roof yet, but it's bloody brilliant. I finally picked up a few final parts that were missing from it today - the tensioner springs and a seal for the driver's side.

I'm still yet to wind up the boost, and am currently diagnosing a cooling issue - possibly a blown headgasket. Once I clear that up, I'll fix up an exhaust leak on the manifold, and wind up the boost!
