Minx Mad Morning Mountin Run - Aug 14- Bris Chaptr

Postby MINX » Sun Jul 31, 2011 4:00 pm

Brisbane Chapter MX5 Club
Take the Challenge

M X 5 - Mountain X 5 = Mountin Minx Brekkie Run

Are we crazy?

5 Mountains before Breakfast, Can it be done?

Yes it can!
Heard of these? Cootha, Nebo, Glorious, Samson, Clear.
Let’s have a brisk early start to beat the cyclists.
Then enjoy a Banquet brekky at the Pub! (only $15.95)

Date: Sunday August 14
Start Time: 6 for 6.30 am sharp departure

Start Point: Hoop Pine picnic area Sir Samuel Griffith Drive, Mt Coot-Tha

Its just a quickie - about 85kms - just enough to give you an appetite for a big brekkie.

Following Brekkie, we will be leading an informal run over to Lakeside Park for a stickie at the 50th Anniversary of Touring Cars day.

The film was sped up to show more of the run.
It is pretty obvious when you look at cars coming opposite direction.
I wouldnt condone driving at Double Reality speed on public roads.
The full run is 85kms, so as the title says, it was just a Teaser to show some of the roads.

Lets not get too carried away.

Back OT.

Anyone in Brissie prepared to brave the cold and get up early to join us?
Even at that hour, the cyclists are already on Glorious and Cootha, but the Camrays are still asleep.

After having all last week off from work due to a chest infection and subsequently diagnosed with asthma (thought I'd gotten away from that after moving to Brisbane from Melbourne), I have to decline for now :(

This cold spell we've had in Brisbane lately has aggravated my asthma. I'm starting to think that I should put the roof up and turn on the heater when it gets cold!

Simon,
Normally it is against my run rules, but i can make an exception since you are old and sickly.
You are allowed to come wearing your hardtop.

Thanks to all that ventured out early this morning.
18 MX5s showed that it was worth the effort.
And we had a pretty clear run around the mountins!

And the event at Lakeside was terrific.
So many cars, so many people! Loved the sound of those V8s roaring up the main straight.
